“Once the writer and the fact-checker get into a lively debate on the ethics of factual truth vs. the beauty of literary dishonesty, it’s time to really sit up and listen.”—Variety

The writer and the fact-checker in this case are two of the three characters in The Lifespan of a Fact, on stage at SLO REP in downtown San Luis Obispo May 1-17.

A talented author has written a transcendent essay about the suicide of a teenage boy—an essay that could save a prominent but sinking New York magazine from collapse. A recent Harvard graduate goes head-to-head with the wrtier in a gripping battle over facts vs. truth.

Directed by Suzy Newman, the comedy’s cast includes Kelly Brown, Ben Abbott and Melinda Parrett.
