In repressive late 19th-century Germany, a group of teenagers trapped by the ignorance of their parents and teachers navigate the confusing and thrilling desires of their awakening sexuality.

Spring Awakening, a 2006 Tony Award winning electrifying rock musical that redefined the boundaries of theatre, follows two of these teens as they embark on a passionate and tumultuous journey of self-discovery, while another struggles to live up to the stringent expectations of society.

Cuesta College Drama presents its version of this poignant story May 7-17 in the Harold J. Miossi Cultural and Performing Arts Center Experimental Theater on the San Luis Obispo campus.

A raw, honest, and poignant story of teenage angst and rebellion fueled by a groundbreaking score, Spring Awakening is a celebration of youth and a heartbreaking cry for understanding.

The show is directed by Zoe Saba with musical direction by Mark Robertshaw and choreography by Jason Sumabat.
