Step back in time with Orchestra Novo Sunday afternoon, November 16, when the live orchestra accompanies two classic silent movies at the Harold J. Miossi Cultural and Performing Arts Center at Cuesta College.
One Week and Sherlock Jr. feature silent movie icon Buster Keaton, whose cinematic genius is on full display. His combination of innovative technical wizardry, vaudevillian slapstick, and mind-blowing physical stunts was an inspiration for future generations of movie-makers.
The orchestra accompanies the double feature with music by Robert Israel, an organist, pianist, and acclaimed film score composer who works primarily on silent films.
Period costumes are encouraged for the event, which begins at 3:30 p.m.
