Get ready to tap your toes and hum along as the Atascadero Community Band presents “On With the Show!,” a concert extravaganza celebrating the timeless melodies of Broadway.
The matinee performance is scheduled Sunday, May 5 at 3 p.m. at Atascadero Bible Church.
Guest conductor Ray Ayala of Santa Maria will be at the podium, bringing the heart and soul of Broadway to life from the roaring twenties to the present day. The band plans to bring the glitz and glamour of Broadway to Atascadero by playing classics like “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” “Do Re Mi,” “Oklahoma,” as well as show-stopping anthems such as “America,” “Memory,” and “My Shot.”
As a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization of area musicians, the Atascadero Community Band is dedicated to enriching the cultural tapestry of the local community. In keeping with its mission to spread joy through music, the band has announced that the beneficiary for this event is the Atascadero Senior Center.
Admission is free, but donations to support the band’s mission are welcomed. Refreshments will be provided.
