The application deadline for this grant program was September 1, 2023.

The City of San Luis Obispo is inviting local nonprofit organizations to apply now for funds from a new competitive grant program that will help pay marketing costs for events that will happen between January 1 and June 30, 2024.

The deadline to apply for a grant from the Cultural Arts & Community Promotions (CACP) program, formerly the Cultural Grants in Aid (GIA) program, is September 1 at 5 p.m. Interested organizations are invited to register to attend a CACP informational session webinar, scheduled July 31 at 1 p.m.

Grant recipients may use the funding for marketing and advertising of an event or activity of cultural, social, and/or recreational benefit to the residents and visitors of the City of San Luis Obispo.

The program is funded through the City’s Promotional Coordinating Committee, which recognizes the significant contribution that arts and humanities play in the city’s quality of life. A total of $60,000 is available for this grant program in the fall.

Eligibility requirements, evaluation criteria, and the grant application is available on the city’s website.
