This event was scheduled July 21-August 13, 2023.
The Central Coast Shakespeare Festival presents Love’s Labor’s Lost on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays July 21 through August 13 “al fresco” at the Filipponi Ranch, 1850 Calle Joaquin in San Luis Obispo.
One of Shakespeare’s earliest comedies, it follows King Ferdinand and his three companions as they try to swear off the company of women in order to focus on their studies. Needless to say, their commitment falters and all try to hide their feelings as they of course fall in love. (Publicity for the show trumpets the following: “Vows will break. Russians will dance. Snakes will be wrestled.” Prepare to be surprised!)
Bring standard height lawn chairs and a picnic meal. No outside alcohol is permitted, but you can buy Filipponi Ranch wine by the glass or bottle.
You can see three performances of the show for discounted prices: an opening night preview on July 21 is just $12, and the Friday, July 28 and Friday, August 4 shows are “pay what you can.”
The house opens one hour prior to showtime, which is at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 6 p.m. Sunday.
