The final book sale of the year organized by the San Luis Obispo Friends of the Library will feature books on the history of SLO County and California, curated in collaboration with the History Center of San Luis Obispo County.
The sale, scheduled October 15-17, also will offer vintage books by local authors along with thousands of other books in the Community Room of the SLO Public Library on the corner of Palm and Osos streets in downtown San Luis Obispo.
More than 7,500 pre-owned books will be organized into categories including fiction, mysteries, cookbooks, art, history, travel, adventure and children’s books—plus you can browse a selection of music CDs and puzzles.
“We’re especially excited to be working with the History Center to bring forward this special collection of local and state historical books,” according to Friends president Karen Perry, “It’s always great to see the community come together around books, and we’re looking forward to ending the year on a high note.”
Members of the SLO Friends of the Library have early access to the sale beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 15. Not yet a member? You can join at the door or online. Sales are open to the public on Thursday from 12 noon to 5 p.m., and continue Friday and Saturday October 16-17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
All proceeds directly benefit the San Luis Obispo Public Library, helping fund programs, services, and collections for children, teens, and adults. Over the last 15 years the SLO Friends of the Library has raised and donated more than $500,000 to the library to support programs and projects that benefit the community.
