A free screening of a short film about a local chef and musician who took over his family’s 99-year-old noodle house premieres at the SLO Film Center at the Palm Theatre Saturday, November 7 at 1:30 p.m.

Mee Heng Low profiles Russell Kwong, who found himself responsible for the last Chinese-run business in San Luis Obispo’s historic Chinatown district. Weighing his own future against the burden of keeping the past alive, he faces difficult decisions.

The 18-minute film is followed by a conversation with filmmaker Kristie Chow and invited guests.
