The Ojai Film Festival recently announced two key leadership appointments for its upcoming 27th annual gathering scheduled November 6-9.

Shelgren

Richard Sven Shelgren has been named festival director and Theodore Melfi will serve as the new artistic director.

Shelgren is an accomplished executive producer whose decades of global industry experience span top-tier production, feature film, and digital media. His work has been honored over the years at the Cannes Film Festival, the Emmys, the Clios, and at the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Melfi

Melfi is the writer, director, and producer of the Academy Award- nominated Hidden Figures and the critically acclaimed St. Vincent, with a career spanning major studio features, global commercial work, and producing through Goldenlight Films.

Established in 2000, the Ojai Film Festival has evolved into a four-day festival that draws filmmakers from more than 40 countries, presenting features, documentaries, shorts, and animation. The festival also offers seminars, screenwriting competitions and a full-day education program for more than 200 regional high school students.
