The Bunker SLO will close for a few weeks to undergo a “brief period of evolution” according to owner Missy Reitner-Cameron. The art gallery, coffee shop, and community gathering space at 810 Orcutt Road in San Luis Obispo will close beginning June 25, with a re-opening planned for early August.

“We are so excited to expand our footprint and our offerings,” Reitner-Cameron says. “We have always wanted The Bunker to be more and it’s happening.” She says the café, gallery, and outdoor spaces are slated to be refreshed, expanded, and reimagined to better support “connection, comfort, creativity, and community.”

A new outdoor patio will be added behind the current space, creating additional room for patrons to gather, connect, and enjoy events in an open-air setting—including a dedicated space where adult beverages can be enjoyed during evening programming and special events.

Inside, a transition is in store for the café as well. With the departure of Nautical Bean, The Bunker’s in-house café THE UNDERGROUNDS will step up, serving Deltina Coffee and Secrets of the Garden Teas (both women-owned and operated) from morning to night.

Weekly programming will continue after the re-opening with regularly scheduled live music, comedy, art shows, workshops, immersive gatherings, themed events, film nights, performances, and more.
