A generous gift from the Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo brings San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre one step closer to building a new performing arts venue in downtown San Luis Obispo.
The $10,000 contribution to the venue’s capital campaign, A New Stage, will name two seats in the new theatre in tribute to two remarkable Rotarians. Wilda Rosene, who passed away in 2024, was a devoted supporter of SLO REP for more than 30 years, and civic leader John Dunn currently serves on the campaign’s steering committee.
A statement from the Rotary Club said that the gift ensures Rotary’s spirit of Service Above Self will live on in one of the community’s “cultural gems.”
SLO REP’s new venue will be built on Monterey Street, with its grand opening planned for 2027.
