Ecologistics is hosting the annual Central Coast Bioneers Conference as a two-day event at the Octagon Barn in San Luis Obispo October 3 and 4.

The conference, “Revolution from the Heart of Nature,” focuses on climate and environmental themes on Friday and on social justice topics on Saturday.

Speakers from the 2025 National Bioneers Conference will present alongside local experts, addressing topics such as protecting local biodiversity, rewilding native species, and the repair of Native lands.

“Come to the conference and hear some uplifting and positive news for a change,” said conference organizer Stacey Hunt. “You will come away refreshed and reinspired.”

Local author Tom Bowman will share insights on his book What If Solving the Climate Crisis Is Simple?, and Center for Sea Rise Solutions founder Janelle Kellman, will discuss the connection between California’s economy and climate resilience.

Friday evening features a mixer with cocktails by 805 bartenders and a performance by Improv for Good. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday afternoon, accompanied by a presentation from Rhizome Theater.

A pre-conference field trip will be held on October 2, offering a tour of the beaver dam analogs created by Nature’s Engineers on Dry Creek in the City of San Luis Obispo’s Johnson Ranch Open Space.

Tickets for the one or two-day conference, as well as $25 pre-conference field trip tickets, are available at both adult and student rates.
