What’s in a name? By the Sea Productions in Morro Bay explores the answer to that question in Oscar Wilde’s classic comedy of manners, The Importance of Being Earnest, playing weekends June 13-29.
This satirical look at Victorian society’s emphasis on appearances and social standing makes light of the confusion that results when two indolent young men both claim the name of Earnest to woo two young ladies who happen to be outside their social station.
Jean Miller directs this humorous parody of status over substance, and the cast includes Topher Lyons, Wren Hall, Jonah Duhe, Perri Gandy, Janice Lamont, Laurelle Kelty, Laura Richie, and Landen Scott.
