A video song cycle by the performing arts duo Princess comes to Hotel SLO for one performance June 2 presented by the San Luis Obispo Museum of Art in celebration of Pride Month.

The 30-minute production @1minworld (One Minute World) features live music alongside original video animations. Promising to keep the laughs and grooves coming, the duo tackles “surveillance capitalism, isolation, dopamine fixes, ergonomics, and intellectual echo chambers,” according to a news release from the museum.

The live performing arts piece includes one-minute video songs, bubblegum visuals, slick pop songs, and one long meditative video song “creating a space for the audience to experience time in a different way.”

Princess is a queer interdisciplinary performing arts duo—Alexis Gideon and Michael O’Neill—that uses music as the narrative basis for conceptual, visually dynamic video operas. Princess has been part of art and music communities since 1999, from early DIY queer music scenes in Chicago to internationally renowned museums.

Tickets are just $10, and seating is limited in Hotel SLO’s courtyard for this innovative performance at 8:30 p.m.
