This production was scheduled March 22-24, 2024.

Nighttime Cleveland radio shock jock Barry Champlain has become wildly popular by insulting his callers in the name of “keeping it real.” When he learns the Network wants to go national with his show, he doubles down on the outrage, despite growing evidence that some listeners are unhinged enough to turn their anger into real world violence.

That’s the premise of Talk Radio, the Pulitzer Prize-winning dark comedy by Eric Bogosian presented as a staged reading this weekend at By the Sea Productions in Morro Bay.

Abe Lincoln plays the lead role and the cast includes Jim Allen, Larry Barnes, Joyce Calderone, Donn Clarius, Phil Epstein, Isaac Lewis, Jean Miller, Nicki Nelson, Sandy Schwarer, Debora Schwartz and Russell Snow. The show, which contains adult themes and language and is not appropriate for children, is directed by Chrys Barnes.

Showtimes are March 22 and 23 at 7 p.m., and March 24 at 3 p.m.
