“A mind-probing issue play with a gripping human face” kicks off the 19th season of SLO REP’s Ubu’s Other Shoe staged reading series.
Keely & Du, a provocative 1993 play by Jane Martin, runs for three performances only September 1-2. Directed by Kristina Melsheimer, it centers on the passionate story of a right-to-life activist and a pregnant rape victim who exist on the extreme edge of everyday reality. The play won the 1993 American Theatre Critics Association Award for best new play and was a finalist for the 1994 Pulitzer Prize for drama.
