Making original artwork accessible to more people is the goal of “Art for All,” an exhibition in November at The Bunker SLO with all artwork priced at or below $300.
The annual show, running November 6-30, features mostly local artists offering original, one-of-a-kind work with prices capped at $300. An opening reception is being held during the November 6 Art After Dark from 5 to 8 p.m.
The reception also opens the venue’s first ever “It’s a Shirt Show” featuring inventive t-shirt designs that you can order.
The Bunker SLO is on a mission to reconnect people with the visceral beauty of handmade work, and “Art for All” serves as an inviting bridge between passionate creators and emerging collectors who might otherwise find the gallery world intimidating or cost-prohibitive.
“Original art carries the soul, sweat, and lived experience of the person who created it,” according to Missy Reitner-Cameron, owner of the venue. “We wanted to shatter the myth that collecting real, one-of-a-kind art is reserved only for luxury budgets.”
While the pricing is designed to welcome first-time buyers, the exhibition includes works from a wide range of Central Coast makers, including seasoned artists previously featured in solo showcases at The Bunker SLO.
A creative community hub, coffee spot, and contemporary exhibition space, The Bunker SLO is dedicated to celebrating local artists, fostering radical inclusivity, and serving as a vibrant third space. It hosts rotating monthly exhibitions, shows, and community gatherings.
