San Luis Obispo County organizations are offering multiple opportunities to get your Halloween haunt on this October, all the way up to the big day itself. Enjoy these spooky, artful, fun-filled activities by yourself or with the whole family.
Filmed almost a century ago but still frightening today . . . witness the creation of a new creature in the original Bride of Frankenstein directed by James Whale. The 1935 horror movie screens Saturday, October 3 at 4:15 p.m. at the Palm Theatre.
Kids under 16 get in free . . . bring your picnic blankets and low back chairs and settle in for a night at the Paso Picture Show‘s last screening of the season: Hocus Pocus on Saturday, October 3, at Venteux Vineyards. Be sure to dress up for a spooky photo op!
Unleash your inner circus performer . . . and enter the twisted carnival of the SLO Film Center‘s annual Haunting Party on Wednesday, October 7. Enjoy a costume contest, giveaways, wine pull, spooky charcuterie, candy, and the famous Palm popcorn.
Let’s do the Time Warp again . . . under the stars with the Cambria Film Festival and Monday Night Movie Club at Parr Wines on Friday, October 9. It’s an outdoor interactive screening celebration of The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
They’re creepy and they’re spooky . . . When people come to see ’em, they really are a scream: it’s The Addams Family, a new musical comedy on stage at the Cambria Center for the Arts Theatre October 23-November 1.
A free evening of books, games and more . . . is on tap at The Cove‘s annual Spooky Bookfair on Friday, October 23 at Two Broads Ciderworks in San Luis Obispo. Literary costumes are encouraged for both adults and kids.
