The final concert of Festival Mozaic‘s 55th Summer Music & Arts Festival is scheduled for Saturday, August 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center San Luis Obispo.
Scott Yoo leads the Festival Mozaic Orchestra in a program featuring Earl Kim’s “Cornet,” Rachmaninoff’s second piano concerto, and Brahms’s second symphony.
Special guests include American actress Jane Kaczmarek narrating “Cornet,” and “pianist’s pianist” Sergei Babayan as soloist in one of Rachmaninoff’s most enduringly popular works. Brahms’ “Symphony No. 2 in D major” ultimately caps off the summer festival with an exuberant finale.
Program annotator and lecturer Alyson McLamore leads a pre-concert lecture beginning at 6:30 on the main stage.
