A rare genre-mixing line-up brings rhythmic energy and cultural depth to the Central Coast when The Siren in Morro Bay presents Coyote Island and Joe Samba, with Cherokee Social opening.

Joe Samba & Cherokee Social

The eclectic night of music on Thursday, August 21 begins with indigenous indie pop duo Julian Navarro and Alex Creighton, who as Cherokee Social are known for blending traditional percussion with modern pop sounds.

Coyote Island’s indie reggae/world fusion sound features troubador Mike O’Hehir and bandmates Amir Rivera on guitar, Garrett Jones on bass, and Ryan Benoit on drums. Singer, songwriter, and guitarist Joe Samba finds the sweet spot between Caribbean bliss and punkified energy, tapping into rock ‘n’ roll spirit and reggae soul all at once.

Doors open at 7 p.m.
