San Luis Obispo Repertory Theatre presents a riveting drama of marriage, truth and illusion March 27 through April 12.

Edward Albee’s landmark Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?—winner of the Tony, Critics Circle, and Pulitzer Prize for best play in 1963—is one of the most celebrated plays of the American stage. Albee’s sharp dialogue and complex characters create an intense, captivating portrayal of emotional unraveling and personal conflict.

The play pulls back the curtain on George and Martha, a middle-aged pair whose late-night gathering with a younger couple spirals into a blistering battle of wits, secrets, and emotional brinkmanship.

Directed by SLO REP’s managing artistic director Kevin Harris, the play features Billy Breed, Suzy Newman, Michael Gould and Carley Quintana.

“This play is a high-wire act,” Harris says. “It’s brutally honest, unexpectedly funny, and profoundly human. At its core, it asks what we hold onto when the stories we tell ourselves begin to unravel.

“It’s a thrilling challenge for actors and an unforgettable ride for audiences.”
