Live Oak Music Festival recently unveiled its official festival artwork for 2026.

Northern California artist Gabe Schneider of Sight Study Studio created a piece reminiscent of Art Nouveau posters of early 20th century California.

It features a striking oak tree that expresses the identity and natural spirit of the festival. Schneider’s decision to center the artwork around this iconic image reflects the deep connection between Live Oak and the landscape that has always defined it.

The artist aimed to capture much of his own experiences visiting the Central Coast in the design. “As a Northern Californian who grew up among dark redwoods, I’ve always been attracted to the dry oak forest and rolling hills of the Central Coast. It still feels so novel to me,” Schneider said.

“I tried to capture the hills’ yellowing colors in the summer and the oak woodlands’ muted greens.”

Schneider brings to the project a practice rooted in conscious design and timeless illustration traditions, with a body of work spanning music posters, editorial illustration, and branding for clients ranging from The New Yorker to Pearl Jam.

Each year, an artist is invited to create a piece of art for the commemorative festival poster that is meaningful to the history, mission, and spirit of Live Oak. Held each year in mid-June, the three-day event is a major fundraiser for KCBX Public Radio. More than 500 volunteers work together to create a unique atmosphere of music, art, and family fun.
