San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara county artists have joined together to help support restoration efforts for areas of the Carrizo Plain National Monument damaged by the recent Madre Fire.

“Carrizo Palette” by Anne Laddon (12″x 24″ Fine Art Print on Canvas)

Members of San Luis Outdoor Painters for the Environment, The Oak Group of Santa Barbara, and others are partnering with the Carrizo Plain Conservancy to host Art for Carrizo, an online show and sale of fine art prints and paintings of the Carrizo Plain. The artists are donating 50% of the sale prices to the conservancy.

The fire that swept through a huge portion of the monument caused serious harm to the area’s ecosystems. Damage to the area is still being assessed, but large-scale restoration efforts will be needed over much of the area.

Art for Carrizo is online through October 15. Purchases are directly through the participating artists: Chris Chapman, Ken Christensen, Dennis Curry, Jan French, Dotty Hawthorne, Sandi Heller, John Iwerks, Anne Laddon, Rosanne Seitz, Laurel Sherrie, Colin Schildhauer, Jim Tyler, and Gisele D. Thompson.
