“This exhibition underscores the extraordinary breadth of artistic talent in Central California,” according to Corey Madden, executive director of the museum. “It provides a platform to amplify the voices of artists working in this culturally rich and ever-evolving region.”

Contemporary artists living in Fresno, Kern, Kings, Monterey, San Benito, Santa Cruz, and San Luis Obispo counties submitted more than 800 artworks on the theme of “Resonance and Reflection” in various styles and mediums. The works selected for inclusion were chosen by exhibition jurors Demetri Broxton, Ann Jastrab, and Hector Dionicio Mendoza.

An Opening Celebration will be held Saturday, May 17, with a juror Round Table on Saturday, June 21. The Monterey Museum of Art offers free admission every Sunday at its Pacific Street location through the run of the exhibition May 15 to August 31.
