Linda Sikora Kettle & Frustum Jar (2024)
Artist/educator Linda Sikora presents Ceramic Gestures: A Studio & Teaching Practice in North America on April 9 as part of the International Museum of Dinnerware Design’s “Unforgettable Dinnerware” free zoom lecture series.
Sikora, trained as a studio potter, shares technical aspects of producing her studio’s work, as well as the stages and teaching practice that led up to it. A second-generation Canadian living and working in the United States, Sikora and ceramist Matthew Metz built their studio and make their home in Alfred Station, NY. She is a professor of ceramic art at Alfred University’s School of Art and Design.
The International Museum of Dinnerware Design’s “Unforgettable Dinnerware” online lecture series includes tours of private collections and artist studios, allows you to meet directly with dinnerware designers and contemporary artists, and shares presentations by researchers and authors on major dinnerware manufacturers including mid-century modern dinnerware.
