Well, it’s that time of year again: longer, warmer days, Poly kids gone, valley crowd visiting, and a plethora of live outdoor entertainment options.
None gets much more popular than our annual Live Oak Music Festival, arguably the preeminent concert event along the Central Coast. Three days of non-stop folk, pop, rock, Americana, country blues, and bluegrass on Fathers’ Day weekend June 19-21. Every musical genre imaginable is repped.

So what’s not to like?
Some acts are repeat performers, so the fest could probably use a refresh, but it’s not only about the music. The community vibe is unparalleled, with great food/drink options, cool info booths, a fun beer garden, and a smaller, more intimate stage and festive campground. Throw in warm, sunny days and a scenic venue in El Chorro Regional Park and you’ve got a recipe for good times.
Popular Bay Area bluegrass band the Brothers Comatose headlines the festival Saturday night, June 20, on the KCBX MainStage. And remember, all proceeds help fund our important local NPR radio station. Volunteer opportunities are still open, too.
And a special treat this year: you can celebrate Summer Solstice with a few thousand of your closest friends. So enjoy—that’s the easy part!
