Meet Sylvia, a stray dog that Greg, recently retired, brings home from the park one day. Sylvia adores Greg, but his wife Kate is not pleased with this addition to the household and so begins a humorous competition for Greg’s affections.
That’s the plot of Sylvia, a comedy by A.R. Gurney, and By the Sea Productions is offering it up as its summer show June 21 to July 7.
Directed by Jean Miller, the cast includes Alexis Dyson as Sylvia (yes, she talks), Daniel Freeman as Greg, Maggie Coons as Kate, and Chrys Barnes and L. Kelty in supporting roles.
In support of Best Friends Animal Society’s goal of nation-wide no-kill by 2025, a By the Sea Productions supporter is donating $2 for every Sylvia ticket sold toward that effort.
