Fine art oils by local artist Park Merrill are on display at the Cambria Center for the Arts Studio through December 30.
After a long career as an illustrator and graphic artist—creating conceptual designs for satellite systems and high-tech space programs including the Hubble Space Telescope—the native Californian has turned his attention to oil painting in pastel colors with soft edges. His recent works are images from California’s colorful past and present.
“This has been the most exciting work I have done to date,” Merrill says.
The exhibit, “Soft Impressions of California,” is open Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.
