The SLO Wind Orchestra is inviting the public to a free chamber music concert at Atascadero United Methodist Church on Sunday, February 26 at 3 p.m.
“We are delighted to be able to bring you the joy of hearing Mozart, Beethoven, and Vaughn-Williams,” conductor Jenn Martin said. The concert features a double woodwind quintet, a clarinet choir, a brass quartet, and more.
The SLO Wind Orchestra, celebrating its 23rd year performing on the Central Coast, is a 60-member group of wind and percussion players specializing in symphonic wind band music. It is made up of accomplished community musicians who perform quality symphonic wind band repertoire in a variety of styles at a professional level. The orchestra seeks to enhance the cultural landscape of the community through concerts, education, and community outreach while providing an opportunity for volunteer musicians to improve, grow, and play for the joy of it.
The concert of traditional and contemporary chamber music is free but donations are appreciated.
