By the Sea Productions presents a staged reading of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible for one weekend only, January 13-15, at St. Peter’s by the Sea Episcopal Church Hall in Morro Bay.
It’s a riveting tale of the 1692 Salem witch trials, where religion, personal grudges, and fear come together with deadly results. The production was originally scheduled for 2020, then 2021, then 2022, but all were cancelled due to the pandemic.
“Religion and politics meet in 1692 Salem as powerful individuals exploit the townspeople’s fear of witchcraft with deadly consequences,” according to director Chrys Barnes.
Cast members include Barnes, Andilynne Perkins, Jeff Walters, Deirdre Loy, Rhonda Crowfoot, Maggie Hall, Phil Epstein, Toni Young, Mike Miller, Jean Miller, Russell Snow, Lisa Pekarek, Laurel Barnett-Kelty, Randall Lyon, Gene Strohl, John Geever, and Larry Barnes.
