The SLO Film Center is inviting film buffs, Halloween buffs, and anyone else who enjoys a party to its “Grand Haunting” (aka “Grand Opening”) at the Palm Theatre on Wednesday, October 2 from 5 to 7:30 p.m.

Food, drinks, cinema-centric activities, and live music from the Ghost/Monster Duo are part of the evening’s program. Costumes are encouraged (there will be prizes). General admission tickets are $17.91, with a special admission plus commemorative t-shirt ticket available for $50.05

The SLO Film Center, a collaborative venture of the SLO Film Festival and The Palm Theatre, showcases new releases, expands the festival’s program of independent and retrospective titles, and offers the venue for cultural events such as live music, comedy, and educational endeavors.

Skye McLennan, executive director of the SLO Film Festival, which began operating the Film Center July 1, says it will be a “special celebration of our beloved hometown theatre and the new SLO Film Center.”
