Vocal Arts Christmas concerts have been a San Luis Obispo tradition for 45 years. This December, the ensemble offers up three separate concerts featuring a dozen holiday songs, from traditional English and French carols to treasures such as “Hark the Herald Angels Sing,” along with a Christmas sing-along.
Join conductor Gary Lamprecht, assistant conductor Melody Svennungsen, accompanist Judy Robertson, and more than three dozen vocalists and instrumentalists in a “Holiday Traditions” choral concert designed to delight young and old alike.
The first concert takes place on the evening of December 1 at Trilogy Monarch Dunes in Nipomo, while the second and third are in the afternoon, with December 3 scheduled at Mission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa, and December 11 scheduled at the Harold J. Miossi CPAC at Cuesta College.
“The choir has shared our joy of music with people all over the world—we have toured overseas eleven times,” according to Lamprecht, but he says his favorite audience is local, long-time supporters. “There’s no place like home.”
