The San Luis Obispo Symphony is seeking nominations for a special guest conductor for its “Pops by the Sea” event August 30 to honor a young person from the community.
“Pops by the Sea,” an annual community event for 40 years, has featured a live baton auction with the highest bidder conducting a piece during the concert. This year, the Symphony is seeking nominations from the community for a young person age 13 to 23 who deserves the honor of directing the orchestra.
Nominations may include their leadership qualities, personal character, community involvement, musical background or experience, dedication to the arts, or why this opportunity would be meaningful to them.
Nominations are being accepted through August 1.
