Local nonprofits can learn how to apply for state arts funding on May 12 at a free in-person grants workshop presented in Santa Maria by the California Arts Council.

Arts program specialists will provide an overview of 2025 grant programs, sharing tips and insights into the process and guiding prospective applicants in best practices for putting together a successful application.

The workshop agenda includes a look at the CAC grant cycle, general eligibility requirements, guidelines, grant application tips, grant writing exercises, and FAQs.

The workshop will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Veterans’ Memorial Community Center, 313 W. Tunnell Street, in Santa Maria. It is free, but registration is required.
