The International Museum of Dinnerware Design has issued a call for entries for its Sixth Biennial National Juried Exhibition, Picnic.
The exhibition—for artists and designers in all media—explores the theme through the creation of specialized dinnerware or 2D and 3D work related to a dining experience that may be universally remembered and loved by all. According to the museum’s call for entries, “That is when intentionally we leave the home or the office, pack some sandwiches or cold chicken, plates and napkins, and head outdoors to a park, riverside, beach or cemetery for a picnic.”
Bryan Czibesz, an artist and educator interested in the relations between materials, technology, and object histories over time, is the exhibition juror. He earned his master’s degree in fine arts from San Diego State University and his bachelor of arts degree from Humboldt State University. He now teaches at SUNY New Paltz.
The application deadline is May 31, with the exhibition scheduled September 6, 2025 to January 17, 2026 at the International Museum of Dinnerware Design in Kingston, New York. The entry fee is $35 for up to three entries, with the rules kindly asking artists to “please use ants in moderation.”
