(Witches’) hats off to The Siren for bringing metal to the Central Coast.
Burning Witches graced us with their presence at the Morro Bay venue on Sunday, October 27. The all-chick metal band, featuring five members hailing from Switzerland and the Netherlands, has so much talent and never disappoints.
Interestingly, this was the band’s second go around here on the same tour, as Laura, Romana, Jay, Larissa, and Lala promote their latest album, The Dark Tower.
What a fantastic show!
I have seen them perform twice now at the Siren, and on both occasions, lead singer Laura (who has a commanding presence on the stage) made eye contact with audience members, bumped fists with them, and danced with them on the floor, all while still hitting the difficult notes.
For Burning Witches fans, the set list was a “greatest hits” and nothing was left wanting—we even got two encores.
We heavy metal fans truly appreciate The Siren for their booking efforts.”
The Siren is a perfect venue for their show as it lets the audience get up close and personal with the band members and helps them feel like a part of the show.
It must be mentioned that the opening band, Graveshadow, making their first visit to Morro Bay, proved that melodic metal is a force to be reckoned with. This combination was the perfect billing, providing a solid musical experience at an affordable price.
Others that I spoke with at the show are truly craving more of this musical genre, and we heavy metal fans truly appreciate The Siren for their booking efforts.
Burning Witches is currently touring across four countries. After hitting upcoming dates in Colorado, Arizona, Texas, and Florida, the band heads to Germany, to Switzerland, and next May to Brazil, where they join the lineup for Bangers Open Air in São Paulo 2025.
