This event was scheduled June 7, 2024.

Rock ‘n’ roll legend Elton John wrapped up his long touring career in 2023, but fans can experience the next best thing when Remember When Rock Was Young–The Elton John Experience comes to Arroyo Grande on Friday, June 7 as the final “Clark Center Presents” event of the 2023-24 season.

Starring Craig A Meyer and featuring The Rocket Band, the show is a spectacular musical journey celebrating the decades of chart-topping hits by Sir Elton John including “Benny and the Jets,” “Philadelphia Freedom,” “Crocodile Rock,” “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” and “Candle in the Wind.”

Meyer has traversed all four corners of the entertainment industry—theatre, film, television, and music.  On Broadway, he created the role of Clinton Badger in MGM’s classic Meet Me in St Louis and toured nationally in Cats, Starlight Express, and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas. Meyer worked with Alan Menken on Disney’s Aladdin, and with Tim Rice and Elton John on The Lion King.

Meyer’s television appearances include guest starring roles on Will & Grace, General Hospital, and Fernwood 2Nite. His film credits include Leatherheads, Joyful Noise, and Identity Thief. He has toured internationally and recorded with music legends Barry Manilow and Frankie Valli.

Throughout Meyer’s busy career, he was repeatedly approached about his striking resemblance to Elton John and his uncanny ability to sound like the music legend. Today, he is considered one of the best Elton John tribute artists.

Remember When Rock Was Young–The Elton John Experience is sponsored by Jennifer White, Farmers Insurance San Luis Obispo.
