The Paso Robles Library Foundation has received a $100,000 donation from the estate of Elizabeth Van Steenwyk, who was an advocate of reading and education.
An award-winning author, she wrote more than 75 children’s books, and per her wishes, the library will use the funds to expand its juvenile print and electronic book collections, and to augment its adult Spanish and English language electronic book collections.
Van Steenwyk, who was also the owner and CEO of Adelaida Vineyards for more than 35 years, died in 2021 at the age of 95.
The Paso Robles Library Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the Paso Robles City Library through financial donations and volunteer service.
