OperaSLO resident artist and Cal Poly voice teacher Amy Goymerac is featured in the first episode of “Arts Safari,” an educational series from the SLO County Office of Education spotlighting successful performing artists living locally and enjoying successful careers in live performing arts.

The Leading Lady” showcases Goymerac and what led her to a career as a classical singer. “I have been singing my whole life and it was all sort of for fun until I discovered classical singing when I was an undergrad at Cal Poly,” she says in the 27-minute video. “I started taking lessons and the rest is history.”

“Arts Safari” videos are designed to inspire students to consider careers in the arts, and are shared with more than 30,000 public school students, teachers, parents, and administrators, and shown on SLOCOE’s two cable TV channels.

Goymerac is featured in the role of Julie in OperaSLO’s production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel October 15-16.
